He handed them some water and a few dates, then he simply left without providing any explanation.

While she was going away, she used to hide her tracks from Sarah. Then all of a sudden she finds herself in the midst of a barren valley where there was no life. There was absolutely nothing! While Hazrat Ibraheem accompanied her, she didn’t question about their destination or the wilderness of the way, she trusted him. She knew that he is taking her to a safe haven, or that he was her safe haven. Her heart was at peace while he was with them, but as soon as he left, she chased him, but he didn’t say anything. She was puzzled, full of confusion because her husband, her everything, was forsaking her and that too in the middle of nowhere. Ibraheem didn’t put up a tent and leave them there, he didn’t provide them provisions and leave, he left them in a valley where there was no sign of life.

This wasn’t meant to end like this. Yes, she was a slave of Ibraheem’s other wife, Sarah. Naturally, she didn’t command the status that Sarah enjoyed, but this is not the way to forsake someone in the middle of nowhere. Slaves don’t have anyone to call their own. In the entire world, Ibraheem was the only one she could call hers. Imagine! And the only person she trusted so dearly is forsaking her and their newborn?

He is not withdrawing in a setting where others could have consoled her, he is withdrawing from her at a place where the only presence is that of hers and Allah’s.

Ibraheem’s lips were sealed, he was not answering any of her questions. Imagine what she must have been going through. If Ibraheem didn’t care about her, at least the child was his. What was the fault of this newborn? Why was he being forsaken?

Then she asked him if Allah had asked him to do so? Yes, nodded. She stopped and said something that will continue to provide us hope until the end of times, She said ‘Izin laa Yadeanaa’ ‘Then HE will not forsake us’.

Immediately, she was at peace, knowing that this is from Allah and Allah never forsakes his slaves. Despite the fact that there was no roof over her head, the waterskin was almost empty, they barely had food, and she is with a newborn!

Despite all that, she was at peace, knowing that Allah is watching over them. She knew that if Allah had brought her up to here, he will get her through. And the same happened.

She wasn’t a Prophet to leave Sunnah behind, she was only a slave girl, and yet her running b/w the mountains in search of water is emulated by everyone who goes for pilgrimage. Not just the run, but even the number of times she ran b/w those mountains has to be imitated!

When Prophet Musa asked for water for his Ummah, Allah asked him to strike the rock with his staff and springs gushed forth but in case of Hajira Allah send the best of all angels, Jibreel to gush forth a spring for her!

Similarly, you might be feeling like in the midst of nowhere, forsaken! Without any explanation or reason. Nothing would be making any sense anymore and like Hajira you must be battling your mirages, but remember HE will not forsake you.

The tides will change, you will receive your share of Zamzam. And then you will see a barren in the midst of nowhere developing into the center of the world, you will understand the wisdom behind you being forsaken & necessity of all those mirages. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The letter to Heraclius by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a), which was carried by Dahiyah al-Kalbi, read as follows:

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. From Muhammad, the slave and Messenger of Allah, to Heraclius, the emperor of Rome. Peace be on him who follows the guidance. After this, I invite you to accept Islam. Accept Islam and you will prosper and Allah will give you double rewards. But if you refuse, the sin of your people also will fall on your shoulders. O People of the Book! Come to a word common between us and you: that we shall not worship anything save Allah, and that we shall not associate anything with Him, nor shall some of us take others for lords besides Allah. But if they turn back, then say: Bear witness that we are Muslims.

Heraclius wanted to know more about this religion, so he summoned some Arab merchants who had come to Gaza with a caravan. Abu Sufyan, one of the bitterest enemies of the Prophet, happened to be in that group, so he became its spokesman. The conversation that took place between Heraclius and Abu Sufyan is preserved in the books of traditions:

Heraclius: Is the family of the person claiming prophethood a noble one?

Abu Sufyan: It is a noble family.

Heraclius: Has anyone else in", this family claimed prophethood?

Abu Sufyan: No.

Heraclius: Has there been any king in this family?

Abu Sufyan: No.

Heraclius: Are the people who have accepted this religion weak or influential?

Abu Sufyan: They are weak people.

Heraclius: Are his followers increasing or decreasing?

Abu Sufyan: They are on the increase.

Heraclius: Have you ever known him to tell lies?

Abu Sufyan: No.

Heraclius: Does he ever commit a breach of any pact?

Abu Sufyan: He has not done it so far, but we would like to see if he keeps up a new peace treaty that we have recently negotiated with him.

Heraclius: Have you ever fought against him?

Abu Sufyan: Yes.

Heraclius: What was the result?

Abu Sufyan: Sometimes we won and sometimes he.

Heraclius: What does he teach?

Abu Sufyan: He bids people to worship one God and not to associate any partners with Him, to offer prayers, to be truthful and chaste, and to bestow alms.

Heraclius then summed up the conversation thus:

"You say that this man belongs to a noble family. Prophets always come from noble families. You say that no one else in the family ever before claimed prophethood. Had it been so, I would have thought that he was influenced by family traditions. You say that none of his predecessors was a king. Had it been so, I would have thought that he was aspiring to attain kingship. You admit that he never tells lies. A person who does not tell a lie to a man cannot tell a lie about God. You say that poor people are the adherents of his creed. The first followers of prophets always come from this class. You say that his religion is expanding. This is a characteristic of a true religion. You say that he does not deceive. Prophets do not deceive anyone. You say that he bids you to offer prayers and to observe purity and chastity. If all this is true, his realm will come right up to my domain. I had thought that a prophet might be coming, but I did not think that he would be born in Arabia. If I could go there, I would have paid homage to him."

Abu Sufyan used to say that he had to give true answers to the emperor, as he was afraid of being contradicted by one or more of his caravan companion if he gave any false reply.

Marhum Allama Shaykh Tabarsi is quoted from his Tafseer ‘Majma 'al-Bayaan’ about the revelation of the 92nd Surah of Holy Qur’an ‘al-Layl:

A branch of the date palm tree of one of the Muslims reached the house of a poor man. When the palmist climbed the date palm tree to take off the dates, sometimes some of the dates would drop in the house of this poor man and his children would pick them up. The man would come down from the tree and snatch the dates from them, many times if he saw a date in the mouth of any of the children, he would put his finger in their mouth and bring it out.
The poor man complained to the Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.a): The Prophet (s.a.w.a) said: You go home, I will solve this problem for you. Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a ) went to the owner of the tree and offered him to give it to him so that he can give it a tree in the heaven.
To this the owner replied,"I have a lot of date palm trees, but no one's dates are as good as this tree (so I'm not ready to make this deal)." One of the companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.a) heard this conversation. He said: O Messenger of Allah, if I go and buy this tree from this person, will you give me what you were giving to him?
Prophet (s.a.w.a) replied: Yes!
The man went and met the owner of the tree and talked to him about it. The owner of the date palm tree said: “Do you know that Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave me a palm tree in Paradise in return? But I did not accept. I told them that I enjoy its dates very much, I have a lot of date palm trees but no one's dates are so good.”
The buyer asked if he wanted to sell or not. He said: I will not sell it, but only if you give me so much that no one will. He asked: How much do you want for it? He said forty trees.
The buyer said in astonishment: So you ask for a very high price for a date palm tree that has become crooked. Forty date palm trees!
Then after a short silence he said: Very well, I will give you forty date palm trees.
The seller (greedy) said, "If you are telling the truth, call some men to testify." Incidentally, some people were passing by. He called them and made them witnesses in the matter.
Then he came to the service of the Prophet (s.a.w.a) and said: O Messenger of Allaah! That date palm tree has come into my possession, and I present it to you.
The Prophet (s.a.w.a) went to the family of the poor man and said to the owner of the house: “Now, this date palm tree belongs to you and your children.”
Abu Baseer was once in the company of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a) when a woman came and said to the Imam, “I have come to ask a question. I am ill. Physicians in Iraq have told me to take liquor. Now I want to know what to do in such circumstances?”

The Imam asked her, “Why don't you drink what the doctors have prescribed for you?”

She replied, “As I am your follower, I shall obey what you say. If you permit me, I shall drink it; if not, I shall keep away from it; so that if I am asked by the Almighty God on the Day of Judgement why I did so, I shall reply that I followed the instructions of the Imam of the day.”

Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a) turned to Abu Baseer and said: “O Abu Baseer. Did you listen to what this woman has to say? Are you not moved by her faith? Inspite of her illness, she is refraining from taking liquor without the Imam's permission.”

The Imam then turned to the woman and said, “By God, I do not permit you to drink. If you do so, you shall be sorry when your soul reaches your throat (that is at the time of death)”.

So saying the Imam pointed at her throat; and asked her three times if she understood what he had said. The woman nodded her head.

Once Usman was on his way to pilgrimage to Mecca and attired in the restricted costume (Ehram) of Haj (pilgrimage to Mecca). Meanwhile, a man happened to bring a roasted bird to him as a gift and for his friends.
Usman did not seem to feel any restriction connected therewith, but his companions did not touch the meat. Thereupon, Usman exclaimed:
“Brothers! This meat of the bird is not prohibited for us, because we did of the pilgrimage. Therefore, I don’t see any harm in eating this meat”.
But the people present in his tent said, “You may not, but Hazrat Ali (a.s.) does not like it despite all the explanation you have given in this connection.”
Then Usman called Hazrat Ali (a.s.) through some one.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) who was marking the camels there seemed a bit annoyed but still he accompanied the man to the tent of Usman. Usman said to him:
“O Ali (a.s.)! You always seem to go against me in all the religious matters.”
On this Hazrat Ali (a.s.) said to the people present there,
“I ask you to tell on oath whether the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had not once refused the meat of a roasted wild donkey with the excuse that he and his companions were dressed in the restricted clothes of Haj and if the meat was not given to those who were not?”
About twelve persons present there said on oath that it had actually happened what had been described by Hazrat Ali (a.s.).
Then Hazrat Ali (a.s.) asked the people present there again to say on oath as to whether five eggs of the Ostrich were not once brought to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) as a gift when he was on his way to Mecca for Haj and also whether had he not refused to eat them on the same place.
About a dozen of people again said on oath that it had happened the same way as was described by Hazrat Ali (a.s.).
Thereupon, Usman went inside his tent, leaving the gift with those who had brought it.[1]
It has been described by Saduq (r.a.) on the authority of Saad Bin Tarif <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">who has carried it from Asbagh
A man came to Hazrat Ali (a.s.) and <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">submitted to him that he had committed a major crime and asked him to <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">purify him. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) asked him whether he was suffering from <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">any major disease.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">When he replied in the affirmative, Hazrat Ali (a.s.) <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">asked him to go away, get the disease treated and then come back to <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">him.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">When he came back Hazrat Ali (a.s.) asked him whether he repented <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">over what he had done.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">The man said, “Yes” and wept bitterly.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Then <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Hazrat Ali (a.s.) told him that repentance had purified him as sincere repentance <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">and penitence was sufficient for purification.
During the ‘Khilafat’ (Caliphate) of Hazrat Ali (a.s.) two men, a slave and his master, were travelling to Kufa after performing Hajj (Pilgrimage). The slave committed some mistake and the master beat him for that. The slave said to his master:
“You are my slave, but still you are beating me for nothing.”
Some other people wanted to decide between the two, but the slave did not admit his mistake and went on repeating that he was the master of the man accompanying him till they all entered Kufa.
The master then said to his slave:
“Let us go to Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) for judgement”.
To that the slave agreed and they both went to Hazrat Ali (a.s.), but while giving their statements before him both claimed to be the master of each other.
The one who was actually the master started weeping that he was the real master and that his father had sent him on pilgrimage to Mecca. He had taken his slave with him who committed a mistake on his way back home and he therefore beat him. By saying that he was the master he wanted to take away wrongfully all his possessions.
But, the slave also repeated the same story on oath.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) after hearing both ordered them to present themselves before him the next day.
Meanwhile, he ordered two holes to be made in a wall, each one quite enough for the head of a man to pass through.
When the two men came to him the following day he ordered each of them to put his head into the two holes.
This done, he ordered his personal servant “Cut off the head of the slave”. No sooner the slave heard this order he pulled out his head from the hole while the one who was the master did not move even slightly.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) then reprimanded the slave, who went away with his master hanging his head in shame.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Kulaini and Sheikh Mohiyyuddin ibne Arabi have described on the authority of Aasim Bin Hamza Alsalooli, who said that he saw a young man crying in a street of Medina,
“O’ God decide the case between me and my mother”.
Umar, who was passing by admonished the youth:
‘Don’t call your mother’s name’.
The man said, “O’ Ameer ul-Momineen! My mother gave me birth and then nursed me for two years, but now when I have grown up, she refuses to own me as her son. She also denies to have ever been married to my father, who is dead, but wants to keep his whole property with the claim that my father was her only brother and thus deprives me of my due share therein”.
Hearing this Umar called the woman, who produced about forty persons from her tribe as witnesses. They all gave evidence in her favour. Thereupon Umar decided the case against the youth and ordered him to be imprisoned for ‘iftara’ (wrong accusation).
When the youth was being carried away to the prison; Hazrat Ali (a.s.) happened to pass by that way. The young boy implored him to come to his rescue and related his story to him also.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) asked his escort to take him back to Umar which they did.
Umar asked them as to why they had brought him back.
They told him that it was done at the order of Hazrat Ali (a.s.).
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) who had also by the time, reached the scene asked Umar, whether he consented if he decided the case.
To this Umar replied. “By all means, what would be better than this? I have heard the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) saying that your knowledge is the best than that of all of us.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) then called the woman and all the witnesses again. They all repeated turn by turn, what they had said before Umar. Hazrat Ali (a.s.) then asked the woman and her near relatives if they agreed to his marrying her to somebody to which they all agreed.
Thereupon, Hazrat Ali (a.s.) asked his personal servant Qambar to bring 400 dirhams and said
to the woman, “I marry you to this young man for 400 dirhams as your dower.” When the dirhams were brought, he handed them over to the young man and ordered him to go away with the woman and give the dirhams to her. When the young man was about to leave Hazrat Ali (a.s.) added: “Come to me again but not before you both have passed the night as husband and wife”. Hearing this, the woman cried out: ‘Fie, Fie.’ Then she said, “O brother of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) you have married me to my own son”.
Hazrat Ali (a.s.) said: “Why did you deny the fact before?”
The woman apologized took the hand of the young man in her hand and went away. When she was gone, Umar exclaimed, “Had not there been Ali, Umar would have perished”.
The above event has also been described by Saheb Fazl ibne Shazan who has carried it from Waqadi from Jaabir and from Salman turn by turn with some difference.

Islamic Scholar Sayed Muhammad Rizvi says:

A Lady visited Grand Ayatullah Seestani & wanted to donate about $500 for the Orphans of Iraq.

Aga Seestani requested her to make the intention of Orphans & Widows of Iraq.
The lady refused and kept on pressing that it was only for the Orphans.
But when she realized that Aga was stressing on both Orphans & Widows,
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">she asked Aga why so,
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">to which he replied:
Whenever the Orphan child will leave some food on the plate, it is obvious that the Widow Mother will consume it.
But, if that food is bought with your funds in your current intention, it will thus become Haraam for the Widow Mother to consume a particle of that food.
Hence, pls make the Niyyah for both Orphans & Widows of Iraq.

The lady changed her intention being amazed at the foresight of this simple man.

Bohlool collected a few dirhams and hid them in the dirt.
Whenever the need came, he dug up the dirt and took out the needed coins, and buried the rest back again. As it so happened, one day when he needed some coins, he dug the earth and saw that all of his money had disappeared.
He immediately understood that the cobbler, whose window faced his house, had taken the coins.
Without making any comment or commotion, Bohlool went and sat by the cobbler to chitchat. Bohlool talked so much that the cobbler became confident and not uneasy. Then Bohlool said, "Beloved friend! Please keep an account for me."
"You keep talking and I'll keep adding."
Bohlool talked about some houses and buildings, and with each he mentioned some coins.
Then he said that in the house he now lived in there was buried a certain amount of coins. After that the cobbler added them all up and said that there was a total of 2,000 dinars.
Bohlool thought for a while and said, "O friend! Now I want some advice from you."
"Okay. Speak."
"I want to bury all the coins I have at other places in the house that I live in now; what do you think?"
"Very good idea. Bring all the coins you have hidden and bury them in your present house."
"I agree to this. Now I will go bring all the coins from other places to bury in that house." Saying this, Bohlool left the cobbler.
The cobbler thought to himself, "I will bury those coins I stole back where they were. When Bohlool brings the other coins, I will find them and take all of them at once." Thinking this, he returned the stolen coins to their previous place.
A few hours later, Bohlool went to his house and examined the area that he kept his money in and saw that the cobbler had reburied the coins he had stolen. Bohlool took out the coins, thanked Allah, left that house and went to another. The cobbler waited a very long time for Bohlool, but he was not going to be and could not be found. After a while the cobbler finally understood that Bohlool had tricked him, and so had got his money back.

Once Taus Yemeni asked Imam MOHAMMAD BAQIR (a.s),
“When did one-third of Adam die?”
Imam replied,“ It never happened so. Rather you should ask when did one-fourth of human population die?
It was when Haabeel killed Qaabeel. At that time there were four human beings, Adam, Hawwa, Habeel and Qabeel.
Thus by the slaying of Qaabeel, one-fourth of the population decreased.”
Taus Yemeni asked, “ What is that, which is permitted in small quantity but prohibited in large measure.
Imam (a.s) replied, “It was the stream of Talut, drinking more water from it was not allowed, only a handful was permitted.”
Then he asked, “Which fast was it, when it was allowed to eat and drink?”
“It was the vow of silence that Maryam (a.s) had observed,” replied the Imam (a.s). That is she did not speak to anyone in this fast.
Taus asked, “What is that goes on decreasing and never increases?”
“Life,” replied Imam (a.s).
“What is that which goes on increasing and never decreased?”
“The sea,” replied the Imam (a.s).
Then he asked, “What is that, which became airborne only once?”
“Mount Tur, which rose up and hovered on the heads of Bani Israel,” said the Imam (a.s).
He asked, “Who are those people who gave a true testimony that ALLAH (swt) considered false?”
“It was the testimony of the hypocrites regarding the Prophethood of ALLAH"S Messenger, but ALLAH (swt) considered it false.”
It means that what they had stated was correct but their statements were considered false because they did not testify with sincerity, they only claimed so verbally.
Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s) discourse with a physician :::
A physician attached to the court of al-Mansur once and asked Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s) if he wanted to learn something in this field from him.
The Imam (a.s) said: 'No. What I have is better than what you have.' Then began a very interesting discourse, in which the Imam (a.s) asked the physician questions like these:
Why is the head covered with hair?
Why are there lines and wrinkles on the forehead?
Why are the eyes shaped like almonds?
Why has the nose been placed between the eyes?
Why are the hair and the nails without life (sensation)?
These questions moved from the head downwards, till he ended by asking:
Why do the knees fold backwards, and why is the foot hollow on oneside?
To all these questions, the physician had only one reply: 'I do not know.'
The Imam (a.s) said: 'But I do know.' Then he explained all the questions, showing the wisdom and power of the Creator.
The hair is created over the head so that oil may reach inside, and heat may go out through it, and so that it may protect the head from heat and cold.
There are lines and wrinkles on the forehead so that sweat from the head does not reach the eyes, giving the person a chance to wipe it away.
The eyes are almond-shaped so as to make it easy to put medicine inside them and remove dirt from them. Had they been square or round, both would have been difficult. The nose is put between the eyes as it helps to divide the light equally towards both eyes.
The hair and nails lack sensation to make it easier to cut and trim them. If there were life in them it would have hurt a person to cut them.
The knees fold backwards because human beings walk forward, and the foot is hollow to make movement easier.'

When an European Airline was initially launched, an educated Muslim gentleman was Traveling in the first class section. An air hostess approached him with a complimentary drink, this was an alcoholic drink so that man politely refused.
The air #hostess returned but this time bought the drink on a platter, designed to appeal and impress however Muslim man again politely refused, explaining he doesn't drink alcohol.
The air hostess was concerned and informed the manager. The manager approached man with another platter, now designed with flowers, he questioned, “is there something wrong with our service? please enjoy the drink,
it is a complimentary offer.” The man replied, “I am a # Muslim and I do not drink alcohol.” Themanager still insisted that the man take the drink.
Then, the Muslim proposed that the manager should give the drink to the pilot first. The manager stated, “how can the pilot drink alcohol, he’s on duty!? And if he drinks there are all chances for the plane to crash”.
The passenger with tears in his eye, replied, “I am a Muslim and I am always on duty in order to protect my Imaan and if I drink I will crash my whole life here and hereafter.”

One day, Imam Reza (‘a) went with his friend Suleman ibn e Jafar for some work out of town. They returned at sunset and the Imam invited Suleman to stop over for the night. He accepted. As soon as they entered the exterior of the house, the Imam (‘a) saw all his serving men busy in the garden, planting, weeding, mowing and watering the flower- beds. The Imam (‘a) noticed a stranger working besides them.
He called one of his workers and asked, ‘Who is that person?’
The man replied, ‘He is a person we hired for the day to finish all the work quickly.’
‘Good. What wages did you hire him on?’
‘We thought of paying him his due after the work was done.’
The Imam (‘a) suddenly looked very annoyed. Displeasure was written all over his face.
Sulaiman felt he would severely punish his men. He came closer and asked,’ What is it that has made you so depressed and angry?’
‘Sulaiman, I have told these people time and again, to hire a person only after deciding the day’s wages. It is unwise to hire a person without knowing what he would wish to earn at the end of the day’s work. If the wages are decided, one can pay him a little more if he has worked well. That will please him and he will leave your place happy and grateful, and always be willing to work for you in future. You will both be pleased with each other. Even if paid what was decided at the beginning, he will be satisfied. However, if the wages are not mutually agreed upon, no matter what you give him, he will not be grateful at all, in fact, he is bound to feel he deserved more than he received.’

Overcoming corruption and guiding the lost ones to the right path are fundamental elements deeply rooted in the Islamic faith, traits which become the part of the spiritual make up of the persons. By relying upon the everlasting power of God, they can subjugate to their will material powers, which are not the sole reality of the world.
In a letter that he wrote to the people of Egypt, Imam 'Ali, the Commander of Faithful, may Peace be upon him, commends spiritual strength and courage of his newly appointed governor, who was a man of perfect faith, in these words:
O people or Egypt! I have appointed for you as governor a man from among the servants of God who allows himself no sleep in times of danger, nor has the smallest fear of the enemy in times of panic. He is severe against the wicked like a blazing fire. He is Malik ibn Harith, of the clan of Banu Mudhij ... He is a sword from among the swords of God: its edge never loses its sharpness, nor its blows ever go amiss.
In the Battle of Siffin, the forces of Mu'awiyah took over the control of the river-bank and intercepted the supply of water to 'Ali's camp. The Commander of the Faithful tried to solve the problem through negotiations. Refraining from armed conflict so long as possible. But Mu'awiyah considered his possession of the river bank as a major military gain, and taking advantage of his position he refused to negotiate. 'Ali's companions had a hard time due to the lack of drinking water. Thereat 'Ali addressed his soldiers as follows:
They are hungry of battle and are asking for it. Now you have no more than two alternatives before you: either to submit to disgrace and indignity, or to drench your swords in blood and obtain water. To live in subjugation is death. Real life is to die while overpowering the enemy and without yielding to indignity. Mu'awiyah leads a party of deceived persons whom he has kept them in the dark about the truth, to the point that they have made their arrows a target of your throats.
This fiery speech created a wonderful change in the morale of 'Ali's soldiers and filled them with the spirit of courage. With a lightning attack they threw back Mu'awiyah's forces from the river bank and took control of it. But, then, with a manly spirit they allowed the enemies to have access to water for their needs.
It is said that when the Quraysh's trade caravans gathered to embark upon their summer journey to Syria or winter journey to Yemen, Khadija's caravan equalled the caravans of all other traders of the Quraish put together.[citation needed] She was known by the by-names Ameerat-Quraysh (Princess of Quraysh), al-Tahira (The Pure One) and Khadija Al-Kubra (Khadija the Great).[citation needed] It is said that she fed and clothed the poor, assisted her relatives financially and provided marriage portions for poor relations.[citation needed] Khadija was said to have neither believed in nor worshipped idols,[citation needed] which was atypical for pre-Islam Arabian culture.

Khadija did not travel with her trade caravans; she employed others to trade on her behalf for a commission. In 595, Khadija needed an agent for a transaction in Syria. Abu Talib ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib recommended her distant cousin Muhammad ibn Abdullah. The experience that Muhammad held working with caravans in his uncle Abu Talib's family business had earned him the honorific titles Al-Sadiq (the truthful) and Al-Amin (the trustworthy, the honest).[7] Khadija hired Muhammad, who was then 25 years old, sending word through her kinsman Khazimah ibn Hakim that she would pay double her usual commission.[citation needed]

She sent one of her servants, Maysarah, to assist him. Upon returning, Maysara gave accounts of the honorable way that Muhammad had conducted his business, with the result that he brought back twice as much profit as Khadija had expected. Maysarah also relayed that on the return journey, Muhammad had stopped to rest under a tree. A passing monk, Nestora, informed Maysara that, "None but a prophet ever sat beneath this tree."[8] Maysara also claimed that while he stood near Muhammad as he slept, he had seen two angels standing above Muhammad creating a cloud to protect him from the heat and glare of the sun.[5]

Khadija then consulted her cousin Waraqah ibn Nawfal ibn Asad ibn 'Abdu'l-'Uzza.[8] Waraqah said that if what Maysara had seen was true, then Muhammad was in fact the prophet of the people who was already expected. It is also said Khadijah had a dream in which the sun descended from the sky into her courtyard, fully illuminating her home.[5] Her cousin Waraqah told her not to be alarmed, for the sun was an indication that the Prophet would grace her home.[5] At this, Khadija considered proposing marriage to her agent.[9] Many wealthy Quraysh men had already asked for her hand in marriage,[5] but all had been refused.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;"> Story of Fatema in her own words:
I was sitting in my room and thanking Allah SWT for making my dreams come true. Of course , this is just the beginning, I thought to myself.
I had joined one of the best colleges in India , this was the only thing I had been thinking of for last two years while studying and finally I was here ... I was extremely Happy!!!
A week passed , and I was called to the dean's office and He said, "You can't go to the Laboratory (Lab) for your 'practicals' with your Hijab, you should wear a Lab dress ( short shirt with half sleeves and pant ) and you cannot wear your head scarf either, coz' in the lab while working with the equipment, your dress may entangle or catch fire and your dress code is not congenial to the lab environment"
I was taken aback, in a flash of a moment, all my dreams were shattered …. The first thought that came to my mind was "I CAN'T GIVE UP MY HIJAB" and next came the question "Can I give up my dream??? …"
I am not a girl who gives up easily, I decided to fight….
I went to the principle and explained him my situation and told him I will not take off my hijab and I can't wear the Lab dress. However what I can do is I can wear a Lab coat over my regular dress along with my Head scarf… He said "NO, we can't change our rules for one student. For years, this is the rule and if you want to study here , you will have to follow it.."
I kept insisting …...finally he said, "Go and speak to the Head of the Department (HOD) of your department and if he permits you, I have No problem."
I came back to hostel and told this story to my seniors, They all said.. "WHAT!!! Your HOD !!!… Impossible .. Mr.Joshi is the Hitler of the college and no student has ever dared to go and speak to him.. He will reject you in a minute. The principle didn’t want to PERMIT you, since you insisted, he sent you to Mr.Joshi, cause he knows Mr.Joshi will never allow you and no one can argue with him. So Forget about it"
I was very sad but I had hope.. I prayed to Allah SWT for help .
Next Morning, I went to my HOD Mr.Joshi's room, OH GOD, How scary the moment was.. I still remember it… I knocked the door, with his strict and harsh voice , he said "Come in"…
I entered the room..he didn’t even look at me.. He was reading something… while his head was in the papers he said "What do you want?"
With shivering voice I said " I am a Muslim and my religion doesn’t allow me to wear a lab dress and I cant give up my Hijab. I need your permission to wear my hijab in the lab."
As I said this, he looked at me and asked me "Are you a shia?"
I was surprised as no one knew I was a shia.. I said "Yes"
Next thing he said was " Permission granted " and he signed a paper which I had brought with me which says I have a permission to wear hijab in lab and I don’t have to wear a lab dress, instead I can wear a Lab coat :)
I was in tears… I was Happy.. Surprised… shocked!!!
Then he asked me to sit and said don’t be surprised… I know everything about Shias and I respect them for their values.
Then he asked " Do you want to know how I know about them?"
He started his story.. He said " When I was a young boy , aroung 12 years old, and Hindu Muslim riots started off in India, Hindus were killing Muslims and Muslims were killing Hindus. We used to live in a Muslim area and our parents were scared that Muslims would come and kills us... The situation was bad . That time our neighbors promised my parents that they'll keep me with them till the situation becomes better and my parents had no other option but to leave me with them, and go to another town.
They were shias.
I stayed with them for almost a month and they took care of me like their own son.. I saw them praying, reciting Quran and abide by the laws of Islam. Also just because, I was a Vegetarian, they didn’t cook non-veg, till I was there. so that I don’t feel uncomfortable. I still consider that lady as my Mother. I know you people very well.
From now on, anyone says anything about your Hijab, just tell them my Name and you will have no problem"
Indeed, after that day in my 4years of life, no one ever said anything about my Hijab. I not only had permission to wear my Hijab comfortably but now I had some one to protect it…. Alhamdullilahi Rabbil A'alameen...
Dear friends, all I want to tell you is if you strive in the way of Allah SWT, He definitely helps you as promised.
Is it not the grand plan of Allah SWT, that a shia family helped a 12 year old kid, who grew up to become the HOD of department, who in turn protects the Hijab of a Muslim girl…. Truly as told by the Ahlul Bayt… "HAVE FAITH IN ALLAH SWT, HE is the best planner."
Its never late… you can start Today.. and Allah SWT will help you through means that you've never imagined.
Ws Salam

Once, during Hajj time, when Hisham son of 'Abdul Malik was circumambulating the Ka’aba amidst a huge crowd, he tried many times to kiss al-hajar al-'aswad. However, due to the enormous crowd, Hisham did not get a chance and helplessly sat at one corner and glared at the people.
Suddenly he saw a thin, good-looking, divinely-bright personality gradually advancing towards al-hajar al-'aswad. The people respected him and involuntarily moved back so that he could easily reach al-hajar al-'aswad. The people of Syria who were around Ibn 'Abdul Malik asked him: Who is this man ? Hisham, even though he knew that personality very well refrained from introducing Imam and instead lied and said: I don’t know him.

At this moment, a poet by the name of Farazdaq who enjoyed special freedom and liberty un-hesitantly recited some poems and in this way, introduced Imam al-Sajjad ('a) very nicely. Some of the verses of his poem are as follows:

“He is someone who, the soil of Bat-haa is aware of his footprints and Ka'ba, the House and its exterior are well-acquainted with him;
He is the son of the best servants of Allah; He is pious, pure, holy and well-known.
If you are unaware of him, he is the son of Fatima, (daughter of the Holy Prophet (s) ).
Soon, when he will touch al-Hajar-ul-Aswad, it will not release his well-recognized hand.” [7]

The poem of al-Farazdaq had such far-reaching effect that Hisham became wild and angry and immediately ordered for his arrest. When Imam ('a) became aware of this matter, he consoled al-Farazdaq very much.
The plaintiff registered his complaint against Ali ibn e Abi Talib (‘a) in the court of the ruling Caliph Umar ibn e Khattab. As per rules, both parties had to be present for the proceedings to take place. Umar sat in the caliph’s chair and called both parties inside.
